Maze Dice

Four, six, eight, ten, twelve, and twenty sided dice with a maze on each side. Each of which is connected to the maze on the adjacent sides. Trace your way from any outside edge to the center where the number is. These are actually the second version of these dice. I didn't like the level of detail for the original versions I printed in White Strong and Flexible, so I changed them to make the numbers more prominent. I'm not including links to the first versions.

Here are some interactive views of each individual die so you can see what they look like. Remember, these views may not work with IE.

Geometry Die

Six sided die with geometric figures made of different numbers of sides representing one through six. A circle for the one side and a hexagon for the six. It's hard to find a two sided polygon, so a pair of arcs joined at their endpoints seemed like the best solution.

Rock Paper Scissors Dice

Two dice with rock, paper, and scissors hand gestures on the sides. Take all the tactics out of the game next time and replace it entirely with random chance. Yes, that's two dice. Once again I only included one in the interactive view above. It's just easier to see the different faces that way, but the model for sale on Shapeways comes with a matching pair.

Tropical Pair O' Dice

Pair of yellow and green (if you order Full Color Sandstone) six-sided dice with palm trees on the One faces. Just a little pun that I thought needed to be made. They're available on Shapeways as the pair, but just to make it easier to see them I only put the one in the preview below. Remember, you may not be able to see it if you're using Internet Explorer.

The dice are actually based on a t-shirt design I came up with ages ago. As you can see, the dice were originally the island with the palm trees growing out of them.
You can get the shirt on Cafepress, Zazzle, Printfection, and Spreadshirt (both pixel and vector). Later I made a repeating pattern out of it for fabrics on Spoonflower and ties on Zazzle.

Ball Bearing 6-Sided Die

Six sided die with ball bearings (1-6) on each side. With a .25mm clearance around the balls they should all move freely. I also made a slightly smaller version, by request, but I couldn't make it much smaller without getting a little too close to the minimum space needed for moving parts. They're wedged in there pretty tight so you'll need to take some time and break them loose. I recommend putting it in the freezer for a few hours. That loosened mine up. There's something strangely relaxing about rolling the bearings around and around in their tracks.

Roman 6-Sided Die

Six sided die with Roman numerals and columns along the edges. So I guess I should call it VI-Sided. If you think Roman numerals are hard, just be glad it's not a D20. "What did you roll?" "Um, XVII? Is that good?" Available in two sizes, regular and small.

Oh, and I've started doing something new. I've started uploading models to Sketchfab so I can include interactive models right here on the page. Go ahead and give it a shot. One warning, though. It may not work with Internet Explorer. I know it works with both Firefox and Chrome, though. It should display an image even if it doesn't work, but just in case, here's the render from Shapeways:

Binary 110-Sided Die

There are 10 kinds of people in the world: those who know binary and those who don't. Six sided die with the numbers converted to binary. You know, 1, 10, 11, 100, 101, 110, that sort of thing. Perfect for a dice collector who also loves math.

Mobius One Sided Die

Novelty 1-sided die. It's a mobius strip with the number 1 cut into it. I can't think of any real use for it, but - hey - you know it would be fun to add this one to your collection! At the very least you can use it to demonstrate to your players just how very, very screwed they are. Available in the large size with the one pressed into the side and the smaller size with the one cut all the way through. The image above is of the second version, printed in silver, and being worn as a necklace.

Cage Dice

Six sided die without numbers or dots. Has bars where the gaps between them count the number. The side facing you, for example, is the six side. Available in six versions. Full (the one above) has a small ball trapped inside to rattle around as you roll it and is sized as regular, smaller, and smallest. The empty version (below) also comes in regular, smaller, and smallest.

Shapeways is an online company that allows 3D modelers to upload their own designs and have these printed as real-world objects in a variety of materials. You can order these for yourself or make them available for sale. I knew right away what I'd have to use this for. I've always liked dice. I'm not into gambling and haven't played board games or role playing games since I was a kid, but I've always found something pleasing about the geometric forms of dice. I've been adding them in with my other creations ever since and even managed to sell a few. I've even got a bunch included in the Guinness World Record's largest dice collection.

If you have any requests or comments regarding my dice, please feel free to speak up. I'm always open to suggestions and criticisms. I'll try to post once every week or so until I've displayed my full collection here and then just when I've come up with something new. That won't happen for a while, though, since I've got quite a lot. If you're interested in the rest of my work (more designs for Shapeways as well as t-shirts and other things) then check out the other pages listed at the top.
